How are Meyer mouthpieces? How do you people like them? Are they the best for jazz playing? Please post your opinions and experiences.

I have a HR 5 for alto. I like it a lot. I have a metal 8J for tenor and it plays well too.

Meyer mouthpieces are very flexible and very popular. Many other mouthpiece designs, in particular for alto, borrow heavily from them. It is definitely a good choice for Jazz playing.

Recently switched to Meyer HR's on alto(medium chamber) and tenor(small chamber), have one on order for soprano. Love them so far, great sound and very easy to play well.

Kyhi: I used to play a Meyer HR on alto until I bought a Selmer Soloist F. Still, my Meyers played good for me. But everyone is different and you may not like them. This is yet another area where only the player can make the decision - and advice is cheap. DAVE
