Hi,

I have an Otto Link metal 8 mpc tenor.
I am trying to figure out where and when it was made.

it is a little bit wider than my new link 7, and the color is different.
the new one is an orange/gold color while the 8 is more of a yellow/brass color.

the one big difference between it and the new one is that between the bands on the shank where it says 'super tone master', the older one has the work "super" in quotes, but the new one has no quotes.

Any idea when they stopped using the quotes?

it has the 8 stamped on the shank.

I have one of the very late Florida-made STMs, and I'm pretty sure it has the quotes around the word Super. I'll check later. Meanwhile, you might email your question to Theo Wanne, via his website, www.mouthpieceheaven.com . Theo will probably be able answer it right away.
