For Dave,
I recall a mention about a new line of kessler horns coming out in spring. Different factory w/ different finishes. Black w/ silver keys etc..
Are these going to happen or was I mis-informed?

You are correct and incorrect at the same time.
One, we are NOT switching factories. This is never going to happen.
We will be getting in our next batch (May) a new Black with Silver keys Deluxe model on both alto and tenor. The keys will be a very heavy silver plate so durability should not be an issue on the plating.

Thanks for the update. I will be curious to see what they look like and what you think of them when they come in.
Keep us abreast when they arrive-- :)

I havent set pricing yet because I havent seen our final delivered cost. My guess is that the black with silver keys will run about $50 more then the black with brass lacqerued keys.
Of course, it will play the same as the current horn as this is just a cosmetic option change.
As for the baris... perhaps. We have been in design discussions with the factory and hope to have a prototype bari in May. If all goes well, we should start seeing production models in August (hopefully).
There were some things that we wanted to improve on from the previous bari so that is what is being worked on. We are also having them change the brass supplier to brass that is being used on our altos/tenors/sopranos as it is a much higher grade & stronger brass then what was being used before.
Have no definate on pricing yet but my guess is around the $2400 price range.

Dear Dave,
Will there be a new Soprano with silver on black? Now or later?
Thanks,

None in the immediate plans. We just did a large batch of black & gold sopranos so these will hold me off for awhile. Have to wait until these stock numbers start to dwindle down before ordering model sopranos. Depending on how the black and silver altos and tenors go, we may bring that to the soprano line in the future.
I am hoping that it does well, so that when we release our new Bari later this year (hopefully) that I can eventually add a Deluxe Black & Silver Bari!!!

A low Bb bari would sell.

Thanx for replying so quickly. Also, did you recieve anymore news about the new line of horns with black laquer and silver keys?
P.S.
The kessler brand will possibly be the first saxophone that I will own. I've been playing for about 5 years and I've heard many great reviews about your horns and I think that it would suit me well.
keep up the good work.

They should be here around the end of May or early June. They will be the same as our current Black Deluxe models that have brass lacquered keys, except the new ones will have heavy silver plated keys.
For the time being, we will offer both black deluxe horns. This might change based on sales figures though over the next 12 months.
p.s. we just got in our new Kessler Custom Low C Bass Clarinets & Bassoons. Absolutely fantastic!
