The new ESP Bari Gold, sax mouthpiece is finished. It's everything that I hoped for and it's a true member of the ESP family. That completes the line of ESP's from soprano, alto, tenor and bari. Players will find the same qualities that the other ESP's possess. I wanted a bari mouthpiece that would allow you to play with the warmth and depth of Harry Carney or Gerry Mulligan and then when you put the spoiler in to be able to cut and roar like Ronnie Cuber and Nick Brignola.
There is a large review of all of the JodyJazz ESP's, coming out in a major Jazz Magazine in January. The reviewer, who plays a lot of bari, wrote that the ESP bari prototype that he played (.110) was the best bari mouthpiece that he had ever played. A very good player who tested one of the prototypes for me, told me in a calm voice, that if I didn't make one for him, he would kill me.
So we finished up the entire first run of the ESP bari's last week and while I was at the Runyon factory we made more ESP soprano's altos and tenors. The bari mouthpieces have to be hand sanded buffed and polished and sent to be 24kt Gold Plated. The waiting list has been started and I invite those interested, to email me and reserve a mouthpiece to try.
