This ebay ad for a "Holton Special" sure seems like a Conn to me. Rolled tone holes, and I'm not sure from the small pic, but possibly a Mercedes style low C guard. This sax also has to be older than 1918, since it says "Chicago", predating Holton's move to Elkhorn Wis (understanding also that the ad claims 1910, but also understanding Holton's inaccurate serial number lists online). I didn't know of any Conn stencil horns for Holton. Anyone ever seen one of these?

well, conn stencils did not (to my knowledge, ever) have rolled toneholes, so that is a tough one.....

We figured that one out: It's a 40's Couesnon stencil that SOTWer and fellow Holton fan LaPorte bought.:)

I promised soybean to take some good photos of this alto for his Holton stencil thread, but I have a bunch of 'non-saxophone' issues at present. So it will take some more time. I play this saxophone whenever possible. It´s a lot of fun.:)
