I WONDER IF LAWTONS DOSEN'T GET BOUGHT BY THE BABBIT CORP. OR SOME OTHER COMPANY,WILL THEY JUST CEASE? WILL THEY BECOME THE NEXT BIG COLLECTIBLE? I GOT MINE.

I'd rather just see them ceasing production. Lawton is a good name. There's no need for Babbitt to ruin it.

My retailer friend called the Lawton facility and talked to a young man there. He said that Mr. Lawton touched every single piece that left there, and that they don't have great hopes of continuing without him. George also bought several pieces just in case.

Morry,

What does George have? Of all the tenor pieces that I have, I don't have a Lawton.

There has been inquires from serveral mouthpiece makers to aquire the product line.

A fax was sent out to all the existing outstanding orders, stating they are unable to currently full-fill any orders.

In Europe there are many variation of Lawton Clones, a few clones state side. I wonder what will start popping up.

If the line continues, out of respect for Mr. Lawton they should be called Lawton II or Lawton Classic

He has a 7*B that is used, but is a great playing piece. I had it at home trying it out (a little open for me) and my cat knocked it off the counter onto the tile floor. I felt awful, and offered to buy the piece anyway. There's a very tiny knick on the top of the tip, but nothing that affects playing. Man, those things are smooth. Mr. Lawton should have gotten an award for the ligature alone. If I could get one in a 6*P (plain chamber) bronze, I'd love to have one, but I guess they'll be hard to come by now.
