A Yani dealer in my area has given me a price of $2675 for a T 901. I was expecting to pay roughly $2000. Is his price too high? Also, how much did you guys pay? Thanks.

Chris04, I have a Yanagisawa T991 tenor for sale for just $1700 It hasn't been played much. No dent ot scratches. It still feels new. Never been damaged. Only 2 years old. You can check it out at

Whether you decide to go new or used is up to you, but $2675 would be a little high for a 991, much less a 901. Do your comparison shopping.

Or consider a Yana T-900u for less money and buy a monster mouthpiece

I bought a mint T901S from one of the members here last year for $1300. Have a look at www.saxophones.co.uk for example of a competitive price, £1037 UK pounds for export, that's about $1600 US isn't it? Maybe add $100 or so for shipping and you could get to pay 3.5% import tax into the US if that is where you are. You'd still be way better off and Yanigasawas are so consistent, you won't go wrong.

$2675 sounds way over the odds.

My T991 was nearly $300 less than that! Try USAHorn

Alright, I've found another dealer that's selling a 901 tenor for $2125. This seems much more reasonable. However, should I still look into buying online? How much of a hassle is it? Also, what other fees do you have to pay when ordering online? Thanks again.

I listed the fees above, you might want to check the actual price, exact shipping charge and whether any customs fees might be payable. Yanagisawas are so consistent and reliable I wouldn't hesitate to buy online. People like saxophones.co.uk are a professional oufit and you will not have any trouble.
