I have an alto saxophone that used to be my grandmas. Its a Henri Selmer, made in paris but there is no model number on it. I have been trying to find info about it and it looks like a model 22. so i was wondering if there were model 22's that were not marked? Im just looking for info on it.

It doesn't have a model number because during that year they didn't put a model number on them, it is what is referred to a 'Super' more specifically a Cigar Cutter, just a nickname after the style of the octave mechinism. Roughly made in 1931 in beautiful gold plate. I'll let you do more research with this information on your own.

As has already been determined it is a "Selmer Super Sax'. If you look at your second photo, down at the bottom there are three stylized letter 'esses'. (SSS) That is the 'logo' for this series of horns. It's rather 'understated' I guess I would say.

That is a gorgeous horn by the way...

This is obviously a horn that hasn't been through the mill. Lightly used and well cared for.

It's amazing to see the level of quality and craftmanship that the people at Selmer put into making these horns back then.
