Wow. i tried one out the other day. and was blown away. Fullest richest sound i have ever gotten out of my horn. HUGE step up from my meyer 6. Now i was all ready to buy it. but then they told me the price. but if anyone has the bills i highly reccomend this piece. what are your thoughts?

I play the 7* for tenor and the 7 for alto. Expensive .... yes, worth it .... yes. I went through quite a few before choosing the ones I play now and they are awesome. For tenor, my hand made Guardala Studio, Barone Jazz, NY Link & SR Pro & Fusion pieces were all put away. For alto, my Meyer 5, V16, classic orig. Lakey were put away. Jody is the premier mouthpiece maker now in my view.

I also play 7* tenor and 7 alto and couldn't be happier. The range of tone I can achieve - especially on tenor - is far greater than from anything I previously owned and there's as much power on tap as I'd ever need.

Worth every penny: I play them on Soprano, Alto, and Tenor, and have given up looking for new mouthpieces. They transformed my playing, not least because they make it a lot easier and more fun, so you practice more.

I use a DV 7* on my CB tenor and the DV 7 on my YAS-61. LOVE THEM BOTH!!!

MY GAS is about to get the best of me for my soprano. I'm currently using a Phil Barone Vintage 7...and it's a really sweet, nice legit sounding mp. Can't argue with it...but my love affair with the DV on the other two saxes is getting the best of me. I'm thinking 3-some here.

I have one, it's okay. Not my main piece, I feel restricted on it and it's really edgy. I have to say though  at TMEA I met Jody and tried a HR* that is crazy! I could fill up the horn and still have enough "pop" to the sound. He did tell me the DV NY had a bit more "warmth" to the sound but I wasn't interested in spending more than $300 on a piece...especially when that nice HR is only $130. Trying to sell my DV soon possibly too haha.

I play a DV 8* on tenor. It is definitly a great mouthipece, but I'm trying to get a handmade Guardala (Brecker model). So far no luck... (needing $$$)
