probably opening a can of worms here, as 'the best' is obviously subjective and down to the individual, but which Martin in generally considered to be the finest model.

or to put it another way, what is your favourite martin ?

i've got a Comm II tenor, which i love. the guy i bought it from told me it was regarded as the top Martin, but as he was trying to sell it he would. it's got a lovely tone, especially in the lower register and is very versatile -it can go from soft sensuos whisper to a real blues wail.

i've never played any other Martins, so i cant really comment on how it shapes up next to them.

any thoughts ?

Try a THE MARTIN horn. Very hard to beat in power and projection as long as it is set up correctly. My one was made in 1955 (tenor)and is a killer.

Magnas are great, as well as the Music Man.
