Just wondering how open an RPC 105 Tenor mouthpiece is?
Would you say it's a narrow tip or is it more open?
How would this relate to a Otto Link? 7star , 8star?
Im playing on an 8 at the moment and dont want anything smaller.
Thanks, Saxda1

i have now been using my RPC 105 Rollover tip for the past month . I ahve previously used Link 7's ( metal & HR) and a Springer Rollover 105 HR.I find it a "familiar", easy to blow oprening, using a MS Fiberreed, or similar, as recommended by Ron.
The sound is definitely louder, fuller, clearer, more rounded, and now has the same , balanced response from bottom to top , with greater projection , as Ron suggested it would !
High , Medium and Low notes are equally easy to play, and I like the slightly longer lay - My MK 7 now really seems to sing!!

I have been playing RPC's for a couple months now and have a .105 & .115 tenor pieces and a .105 Alto piece also.
I dont have anyway to accuratly measure but i think they are more often than not a little larger than marked. My RPC .105 tenor piece feels larger than the JJ hr .105 i have..
Either way they are both great pieces and play wonderful from top to bottom

I've owned and measured quite a few RPC's and find the newer ones to measure right in the neighborhood as marked. Some older ones, especially high baffled RPC's, can be actually measure up to .009" more open than marked; though with Ron's facing curves don't seem harder to play than other similarly open brands. If you don't want to go lower in tip opening than an 8, the 105R might be too closed for comfort. The 115B would be perfect, however.

What Grumps said.
BH, if you decide that .105 alto piece doesn't fit your liking, save yourself some time and effort selling it and contact me (you beat me to that by a few minutes). ;)
