I have an old tenor mouthpiece that looks very much like a Dukoff however it is marked on the front of the scroll shank as "The Woodwind Company New York".
The back side of the shank has what appears to the serial number "X 137", and the body has the marking "5*".
I have been able to determine that The Woodwind Company was acquired by LeBlanc many years ago and that it had a good reputation for making saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces.
Does anyone know if they ever used Dukoff blanks for any of their line of mouthpieces? And if so, does this mouthpiece have any special value? Is it a candidate for refacing?
The mouthpiece appears to be in pretty good condition and was part of a purchase that I made for a Super King 20 a while back.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Cheers!
Richard
