I have just purchased a useful little book entitled “Mouthpieces – What YOU need to Know” by Professor Anton Weinberg (Clarinet and Saxophone). £5.95 including post from Dawkes Music. www.dawkes.co.uk

I only found out about it during conversation with the author the other day. It has 126 pages of tips, advice and technical information on most makes. It really is beautifully illustrated throughout . The many colour photographs, diagrams and tables are very useful. All I have to do now is get on and read it from cover to cover.

Thanks Stans fan - I have talked with him before and he really seems to know what hes talking about. It would be interesting to hear your opinion on the book, I think it might be worth investing in, but you always wonder if SOTW searches reveal just as much information!

I agree that you can find an amazing amount of information, on this subject, on the web. I will report back once I have read it. I also have a copy of "Saxophone Mouthpiece Selection" by Robert Scarff (Jamey Aebersold) which is good.
