Hi!
I just wanted to let you know that due to the positive responses from those that have tried the BBQ prototypes that the project will most definitely move forward.
I am trying to get blanks ready now that will allow me to offer tip openings as open as .125 on the Erik Brand scale. It seems that most players that this piece will serve play the more open tip openings (.095-----.125). I will also have smaller openings available as well.
This piece will never be a production piece. Each one will be hand crafted for the individual player that I am working with. All baffle, chamber, and facing work will be hand finished and "played in"---by played in I mean that it will be play tested to assure that it will give top performance for you.
I am hoping to have pictures on my site by the first of the year for you to scrutinize.
I do plan to offer this piece in Alto sax as well but I will have to get the tenors going first.
I will say this now. As these are going to be hand crafted there will not be a large inventory for you to select from. You will be able to order what ever tip opening that you desire but sometimes it may take a while to get that particular one available. We will have to know what you want and then fill the need so do not expect to get them quickly when you order one. When you purchase one we will work with you in an "allowed" adjustment phase to get it right for you as best we can.
These pieces will not be cheap but I will hold the price in a range that most players that want one will be able to afford a hand crafted piece.
Thanks to those that have tried them for me and for your positive and negative comments.
If you have any questions for me please e mail me at charliea@watervalley.net.
