Hello. I am new to this site, but not to playing the sax. I was wondering if anyone knows another site where they might have a fingering chart for higher notes such as the "false fingerings" or if anyone knows fingers for notes higher than the F# above the staff. I'm doing an improv on a sort of funk song and I have an idea of what to do but using some higher notes could really help out. Thanks in advance.
What your asking for are "altissimo" notes. John Laughter has a book out called Rock and Roll Saxophone that gives you a good chart of notes as well as how to play them. He's a member of this forum so if you can't find the book you can always search the forums using his name (as above) you can get his email. He's a cool guy.. Books cool too.. The book also has instruction regarding growling, flutter tone, subtones, reed squeal and a few other cool stuff which might help you with you solo ideas...
