I have a sax that has "Martin" engraved on the side and a serial number 67902171 stamped on the back with Japan stamped below it. I am trying to get some information about it. I understand that it was probably made by LeBlanc.
Does anyone have any other info. about this sax?
General value?

Hi arecon, take a look at http://saxontheweb.myforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=8954 for an earlier thread on Japanese Martins.

Like that thread states, it's a Yanagisawa, and the sound bears no resemblance to a real Martin. It will sound and play more like a Selmer or other modern horn. Could be a real sleeper as far as a back-up or alternate/road sax is concerned. I've always thought they were cool-looking with that oversized ring brace for the bell.
