Presently I am making another Contralto. I have some ideas on how to make these horns a little more practicle to build with the intention of getting them closer to the public.

you can hear the Contralto there.

The gold pads now have powder embeded directly into the skin instead of just having a metal layer on the top. This means that the construction of the skin is continuous and very reliable.

I first learned of your work maybe 8 years ago or so--it was just before I moved from Maine to California, and I'd stumbled across your website by happenstance. Pretty stunning stuff. If R. Buckminster Fuller had turned his attention to the realization of the Dymaxion Saxophone, I reckon that it'd bear a resemblance to yours.

i think the inner curvature (and it's not a smooth curve, since the surface is constructed from 2-dimentional panels) is semi-spherical.

i actually used to live, briefly, in a geodesic dome. and i am a hyperbolic bore.
