The exact same model that was reviewed by stephen howard is being sold on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.fr/Saxophone-alto-PIERRET-modele-COMPETITION_W0QQitemZ330199191487QQihZ014QQcategor yZ104537QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. It will probably sell for under 400 euros, and looks to be in very good condition, although the neck brace is missing and it has taken some damage that was poorly repaired. I own a very similar version. It's a great playing horn and feeling, but built rather fragile, and will almost always require an overhaul before serious play. So expect to shell out some cash to fix it up.

What do they sound like?
I recently went to the music store, and they happened to have a selmer mark 6 in incredible condition! I had my Pierret with me, and I tried them both side by side. They sounded very similar, except the selmer was darker and, of course, was built better and just had better ergonomics - but then again, it was a mark 6. Not like you can beat that, right? It's a sweet sounding edgy horn that's easy blowing. But it has to be set up right. Mine got an overhaul and has all new selmer style plastic resonator pads. You'll have to probably overhaul to get it to sound it's best.
Edit:
I'll post a clip of my competition alto to some jamey aebersold a little later today to give you a better idea.

Okay, I posted a clip of this horn, which is the same one that is on ebay. I suppose it's bright. I love this horn! Looks like there are some tuning issues on this recording, and I'm having trouble with the lower register, but when you hit it, it really really burns in the lower register.
Go to my myspace page to here it.
