On the album "Groovology", Gerald Albright records the tune "We fall down". Does Albright switch between tenor and alto on his tunes? Sometimes it's difficult to tell since his range is very impressive. It sounds like he's using an alto for the tune but how does he manage to play an "A" a note a semitone below the lowest Bb on an alto? Is he playing a subtone? Someone with more experience please enlighten me on this. I did check the note on the piano to make sure it wasn't an off note Bb sounding...it was not...correct me if its a tenor that he uses for this tune or both alto and tenor...the low note phrase is pretty close to the start of the tune.
