Does a larger chamber make it easier for a relative beginner to play the lower notes D, B, and C on a tenor? Or does it only affect the overall sound by making it fuller and more open with bigger bottom end, as Theo's site explains?
I'm talking tenor here in a jazz application.

chamber size shouldn't make a difference in ease of playing, but larger chambers will get you a more full-sounding bottom end. They're less "focused" than smaller chambers, however, and can sound kinda foofy without good air support.
bottom line, try out a bunch, and pick the one with the sound you like. You'll learn to play it effectively.

Getting a leak free sax is most important. Longer facings will help some. Larger chamber should not be a major factor.
