I got a black nickel tenor KC. Wow, what a great value! I have never played a big 4 horn, as my alto is a Selmer USA (Buescheresque) but I really like this tenor.
I was going to choose a Brushed model, but they were out of stock. No matter. The black is much nicer looking in person than the photos (it's not as dark. It's more a smoky nickel than a "black" nickel. So the engraving looks more like engraving and less like "tattoos").
Only thing that needed attention was a missing cork on the front high F key. Talked to Chuck on the phone, and he is making it right. I really enjoyed doing business with the Kessler's!

Congrats! My experience exactly. My tenor is the Custom Deluxe in the lacquer finish. Tough decision between it and the brushed look. (That black nickel is very good looking too!) The Kessler's will do you right and you'll have a horn you'll enjoy for quite a while!

Ditto on everything I've bought at Kessler's, including his KC tenor (lacquered). DAVE
With all the attention given to the Phil Barone saxes lately, it's nice to see a return to comments about the Kesslers. And also, it makes me wonder if these saxes are the same (the Barone neck and mpc excepted).

Not sure if the Kessler is made in Taiwan or China... If Taiwan , could very well be similar to PB. Only Dave K has the answer to that one I guess. Nice lookin horn though.

The Kessler horns are made in Taiwan.
(Unless something has changed in the last couple of months, that is.)

Confirmed : Vietnam
(At least the Kessler Customs are) then again, most of asia has ramped up and quality has been keeping pace at the better factories.
I have never personally tried a KC yet, but would like to one of these days.

This is what Chuck told me as well. He mentioned specifically that the sax is "assembled" in Vietnam but the parts are from Taiwan, and the engraving is done in Taiwan. Probably saves $$$ on labor. My sax plays fantastic, though. I have no complaints.
Actually, to the contrary. My front F key corks and glue arrived today, just as Chuck promised.
Thanks, Kesslers for a good product and service!

Learn something everyday!
My Custom Deluxe is a great horn. Hope you get to try one soon!

My, my how things change. And thank goodness they do. When I saw that I was reminded that this is the 40th anniversary, to the month -to the week- that I was on a concert tour of Viet Nam, a country with which the US was at war. Peace and Love on Earth to men of good will. :)
