Please do help, out of my curiosity, I browsed the internet and found Grassi TS200 Tenor Sax for around 400 Euro. Is this the same as an legendary Professional 2000?

I did search for Grassi catalogue and it seems to tell me both are the same. How come the professional sax is listed for only 400 Eur?

If there are not the same, would the TS200 do any good?

The TS200 is made in China. The new Grassi company has nothing to do with the old Ida Maria Grassi manufacturer: they simply bought the name rights and stamp it into their instruments made in China. I read reports in an Italian sax forum on Yahoo that they are very low quality saxophones, mechanically in particular.

I think they have as much in common as vintage Buffet (DA, SDA, S1) have with the modern 100 and 400 models (probably better than the Grassi).
So keep your eyes on the older "Professional 2000" models only.

Thank you for clarification. Just wonder the price range of Professional 2000 Tenor? Anyone put one for sale?

I haven't seen one for sale in a while. The last one that I saw was on eBay and it went for ~$1100 (including shipping). I don't remember how much I paid for mine.
