Very little info on this sax anywhere, I know it was the predecessor to the 275, any user opinions? I am basically an intermediate alto player wanting to branch out without spending a fortune. I have been offered a very good condition secondhand one that seems to blow well. Can anyone advise?

If you want to save yourself a lot of trouble - fill in the user profile - at least to the extent of letting folk know which continent you're on.
At a guess you're in Europe or the UK - the 25 was never sold in the US - They were a well respected student sax equivalent to the 23 but some (all?) had the high F# and the later ones had gold coloured keywork (YAS25L/YTS25L) went out of production about 8/9 years back and was replaced by the 275.
Some people prefer it to the 275 and some don't - you pays your money and....
Be due a looking at by a tech by now.
