Steve,
That is so weird, I'm looking to find a copper Keilwerth tenor neck for my Couf!! I have a Selmer VII neck that I like, but Couf players keep telling me to check out the copper Keilwerth necks. I've found some places overseas but would rather not deal with all that. There's got to be some place in the US!

Seek out the copper neck. I use one on my JK Anniversary alto (with a Yani HR5 mouthpiece, Rovner EDII lig and Hemke 2.5 or 3 reeds) for classical work--this set-up totally transforms the instrument.

What does the copper neck do compared to the original neck?

It warms and softens the sound pallet. With the copper neck in place of the silver plate I can still make the horn roar ( even an S3 can roar), but its natural tendancy with the copper neck is more focused and more tame. More vintage French, less vintage Conn. The Yani HR contributes, but it's mostly in the neck. Intonation is unaffected.
This is the most tenor-like alto I own, and even with the copper neck it is not my best classical alto (I'm a Buffet guy ). But if I'm going to play some roaring lead and some solo or section classical, I can simply bring the Anni w/ both necks, the Yani HR with Rovner/Hemke and my Meyer or Runyon w/ spoiler and a Hahn carbon fibre reed, and I'm ready. No need for two horns--a handy advantage, esp if I'm flying.
Still, if I have space, I carry the Anni and a Buffet.
