I have been watching this area for the last couple weeks. I love bargains. I noticed a Pro 2000 Alto up on ebay and bought it. I got it today. Here is the interesting part. I just sold a #143 VI for $5750 (i think that is how much, might be off a hundred). Anyhow, I was packing the VI up tonite. It is a STUPENDOUS horn. It was recently overhauled. I got to A-B the Grassi and the VI. The Grassi needs a little work. Honestly, the VI did not blow it away. WOW! They are VERY similar. I played if for my wife (who has no idea what a Mark VI is) and she thought it sounded fuller than the VI. It vibrates really nice. I bought for my son who is 5. I want him to start playing and doodling soon. Just a bit of humor. I don't much care for alto, but for the price it is foolish to overlook these horns.
