That's right, it's a Grassi Professional 2000 soprano for $375. I was going to try and win the Prestige that's up there, but this is even better!

Yup. I'll post a side by side comparison with the "Model 2000" when I get it. I have a feeling that the "Model 2000" will be up for sale soon...

I've got a soprano here that I saved from the scrapyard. Got it for free, same engraving, Ida Maria and Grassi but only goes to F. Don't know much about it, it's a two tone with lots of plating loss on several keys and in need of serious work to get in playing condition. But is will have to wait, maybe if someday I decide to take up soprano.

Those are the sopranos from the older Mark VI imitation line. (There's one on eBay right now) The funny thing is that even though the altos/tenors/baris seem to be based on the Mark VI design nearly exactly, the sopranos are a bit different. They don't have the inline Mark VI style palm keys, and they have a very different feel, almost like a flattened out VI alto or something.

Thnx J. Max, I checked the one on ebay and it looks indeed just like the one I have. I'm sorry but I can't comment on the different feel because I don't play sop.

Got it today, and it is a Professional 2000...and it came with a Morgan 7J soprano piece with a Vandoren Optimum lig. Unbelievable...I'll take pics later to compare it with my "Model 2000".
