I just bought a 1926 Evette&Schaeffer soprano... Mint condition, recently allmost comepletely repadded and adjusted. It seems to play very well, though I can't really say yet, since my soprano embouchure is null (I normally play tenor). I can say for sure that it's in very good tune!
Any experiences with that kind of horn? Also, I'd like for some of you connesieurs to put a price on it from this decription... Thank you

Arsenixxen,
Wow...I have what I believe to be nearly the same horn...S/N 29XXX. Mine is lacquered brass though I'd estimate that only about 25 % is left now. So mine is NOWHERE NEAR mint condition as you have described yours. Mine is only keyed to high Eb as I assume that yours is also. Mine also does not have pearled keys...just brass key touches. And mine has the 'bis' type of Eb trill key with the 'pierced pad'.
I bought it in about 1975 and it has been my only Soprano for all of these years. I don't play a lot of Soprano, but to me, the intonation seems to be manageable. I play a Wolfe-Tayne hard rubber #4 facing mouthpiece.
I paid $ 100 for it, about 28 years ago.
I don't think that this kind of horn is highly sought after today. I just kind of bought mine on a whim because it was offered to me and I didn't have a Soprano. I figured that in time I would eventually buy a newer and better one but for as much as I have needed it over the years, the Evette has been sufficient so far. Plus, no one has offered me a better one at a price that I was willing to pay.
Great to hear from another E & S owner. Good luck.
