hello,

I've been checking out an Aristocrat Bari, and I'm having trouble finding a mouthpiece that will work for it. I've tried various metal pieces (Reglein, dukoff, Berg, etc) and have found that these pieces are all too long. THe neck on this bari seems to be especially long, and even with these mouthpieces shoved as far on the neck as possible, pitch is still flat. Does anyone have anysuggestions? I wonder if perhaps this is not the original neck. (Also, this is a 33x,xxx bari)

Thanks, open to suggestions...

I've got a 35x,xxx with a neck that seems too short - wanna try swapping?

Send me some e-mail - I'll probably be down there with my bari on Saturday anyway.

The Runyon mouthpieces are generally short, I am discovering. I currently have a Jaguar that I cannot play (yet) on my Keilwerth stencil low A or my Conn 12M...several people have assured me that I will get used to it, but on both horns it is on average 30 cents sharp with <1 cm of the piece on the cork. This may be a solution for you. I would probably be willing to sell the Jaguar, although I haven't had it long enough to give it a good try...

Max,

Thanks for the info--yeah, I would be hip to checking out the neck from your horn. I actually won't be down at the store this Sat though--family obligations. But, maybe the next time though--I'm going to check out a different mouthpiece on it today and see how that goes
