A friend of mind bought an unlackered tenor Z last week, and is a Canadian as me,so will he be able to have a year warrenty for his tenor now that it is here?He went to a place that sells Yamaha,,and was turned away for services! Do you believe that??The guy told him rudely to go and have it looked at or fixed where he got it in the US..I wont mention the store, but it is in Quebec City. They have been selling Yamahas and Selmers for years!
So my question is ,does Yamaha will give him a year of warrentee on labor as they usually do?

It does not seem at all strange to me that a store would only perform warranty service on merchandise purchased from them. In fact, I would pretty much expect it.

That's the downside of the global market in instrument buying. You mat be able to buy more competitively, but you have to accept the service issues when you buy from a remote location.

Brian,I agree that the store will give services specialy when purchase over at there own place!I remebered though,I had an overhaul done on a Custom Yamaha paid by Yamaha, long storry short the pads were defected,,,anyways I had the overhauled done at a different store that also represented yamaha, but Yamaha did'nt mind where I was going,as long as it was a store represented by Yamaha! For me ,Yamaha was just great and fantastic and cooperative!!That is an issue though, buying in a different country,I guess that is is normal that not a lot will agree to do service offered by Yamaha!
Maybe the warrenty is not valable after buying it from another country!
Thanks for the reply!
