View Full Version : Non-deluxe tenors: ribbed or post?

I read on the website that the vintage finish tenors are post to body. But the pictures of the brushed finish also look like post to body. Is this an old picture that no longer applies? If so, will the vintage finish tenors also eventually go ribbed construction?

Thanks,
Derek

Probably an old set of pictures. Earlier this year Dave Kessler told me that the only difference between the Custom and Custom Deluxe models are the fancy engraving on the Deluxe models. With the exception of the Vintage tenor model, which is still post-to-body.

My Kessler Custom tenor (lacquered brass finish) has a few ribs but mostly post-to-body construction. Don't know if the horn is a "Deluxe" or not, but it does have engraving (light) on the bell. I bought mine new a year or so ago. DAVE

Originally, when we released the line, they were all post to body. This is because originally, the factory's rib's were just too heavy and they dulled the response of the horn.

Eventually, they got the rib design fixed and starting in 2006, we started transitioning to the Ribs.

The pictures on the site that show post to body horns are old pictures that will be replaced when I get a chance. :) I should be getting all finishes back in stock (all with ribs) in the 1st week of March.
