I saw a 229xxx tenor on Ebay and the seller states that it is a Mark VI.
But according to the charts...the last piece of Mark VI was supposed to be 220800.

Is there any discrepancy with the records?

Yes, The last mark vi had a serial # of 24x,xxx - I've personally seen them as high as 241,xxx

I owned a 221,7XX Mk VI tenor for many years, and had the same concern about whether it was really a 6 after these horns became so sought after and overhyped. I checked with Selmer and they said the cutoff serial number range on the charts was not correct.

If the horn is stamped Mark VI, it's a Mark VI regardless of the serial number. Selmer's own serial number charts are not correct. I have a Mark VI alto with the number 240XXX.
