I was sent a stencil maker's list not long ago, but the "Bordeaux" name wasn't on there. I have never heard of that name before but again there are so many stencil names. The only guess I can make is that "Bordeaux" is a French name, so maybe (...maybe) made by a French manufacturer?? Where was the sax bought? - Besides that, I'm affraid there isn't much else to do to help you find info.

Good luck

Hi Kim, thanks for the intress, after going on several sites I am 99.9% sure that what I have is a MALERNE tenor sax, I bought it used in 1975 in an area of montreal that you probably know, Ville Emard. SN 41xxx, so far I have not been able to get a serial number chart. :D

After hours of reseach I have come to the conclusion that I have a Malerne stencil tenor sax. It has streight tone holes, sheet metal key gards, tone hole on the right of the bell, it is 2 toned( nichel keys and brass body. It is stendiled Bordeaux and has the # 9 at the top of hte stack near the tightening screw. sn 41xxx. If there is anyone who can give more insite please feel free. Thanks

Have you looked on saxpics? There is a Malerne stencil tenor there. I bought what I believe to be a Malerne stencil tenor, but it has only a four digit serial, just as the one on that sight has. Mine is identical to that one, if it is a Malerne.
