I originally started on sax but in High School they needed a couple of solos for a "Guys And Dolls" production, so I picked up a clarinet. That was some time ago but I got back into playing music again a few years ago and added flute, piano, bass and lately have been working on guitar. Never could figure out how people could only play one instrument :D

For clarinet the only thing I can reccomend is that you practice using different types of music. Listen to some CDs and try to practice a little classical, Dixieland, German "oom pah" band and some Big Band (Benny Goodman) styles. Dont restrict yourself and have fun with it.
