Hi folks,

After 20 years of inactivity I am coming back to the tenor world.

I have just got a Grassi "silver-like" (I think it is not silver-plated or lacquered) Professional 2000 tenor. On a first trial using an inexpensive RR graftonite and a LaVoz reed it has a huge and mellow, Dexter Gordon-like sound ;-) ; intonation is fine....

Today I am going to try it with my old Link STM #8*.....I will see...

I am just wondering when this good saxophone was made....

Its serial No. is about 63,000 (I am not with it now...and I do not remember the exact serial No.).

Can you help me?

Thanks

Probably mid to late 90s.

J.MAX,

many thanks.

Any advice for a good mpc/reed combo for this saxophone?

Well, they are copies of the Mark VI, so stuff that works well on one of those should work on your Grassi.

Hey Pharmasax, why don't you post some pics, it would be nice to see this silver plated tenor!
Thanks,
