What can I get for a BRAND NEW Yamaha YBS62 bari case??

My new bari has arrived and I have decided to put it in a BAM case. I don't want to keep the original case if I can recover some of my investment by selling it. I figured I could get an approximate good fair-market value from the members of SOTW so I know how much to ask.

I don't want tp wind up giving it away or ripping anyone off so I was hoping somebody in North America or Europe could suggest an appropriate asking price, or at least a starting bid.

You could always check with a Yamaha dealer, and ask them what an orginal replacement case for the horn costs. That's what I would do.

My "guess", and this would be only a conservative guess, probably a new case would be at least $400 Cdn....Quite likely somewhat higher. This guess is based on what the Protec. and other after market bari cases sell for in Canada.

Hey Kevin. Greetings and salivations from Canada's Fog-Bound City! I bought a slightly used YBS case on eBay about a year ago for $103 USD (the original case for my Mark VI was really bad - as dead wood goes, Elian Gonzalez would have passed it up in favour of treading water). Now that I have a BAM High-Tech on the way, I'll probably resell the Yamaha case for the same amount, more or less. Sorry for the competition ;)

BTW: if you are looking for a BAM HighTech, shop around. While the list price is $640 USD, most sell for $545 USD, and I've even found one source at $429 USD ( http://shop.store.yahoo.com/prowinds/bamwoodcas.html ). Regrettably, I never found this source until after I bought one for $450. Oh well... Cheers,
