Does anyone know anything about this? The idea is great. You clip the tuner onto your instrument and it 'feels' the vibration of your horn. Then, you can tell if you're in tune while you're playing so you can adjust the embochure on the fly.
The product is the Center Pitch Tuner by On Board research. I've heard that the original product has been recalled in anticipation of a much better model about to be introduced.
Has anyone tried them out and can comment?

I have been wondering about this tuner as well. I wonder if it is really any good.

They do work and fit right on the neck. There's a saxophone instructor that recommends this, but I forget who. Anyway, you can just buy a pickup clip for your current tuner, which works just as well and is more convenient for me. It is just a clip that you can attach to the bell and has a wire that goes into the mic in of the tuner. The peterson brand pickups are huge, I recommend the matrix brand that is much smaller. They both work great for tuning in the presence of loud external noise. It's also nice to have a separate clip since you can use it without the clip when necessary, unlike the clip on tuner which doesn't have a microphone.

Thanks for the tip.
I gave up on the Centre Pitch tuner and just went with a regular Yamaha TD1. I like the idea of getting the clip on input. When I'm at band practise, the tuner is pretty much useless with all the other players playing.
I don't think the TD1 would work as the Centre Pitch 'claims' to do and that is adjust your playing while playing. The TD1 doesn't have a quick enough response time for that. You need to hold the note for almost a second to get a stable reading. Is the Centre Pitch like that too?
