It's a silver alto and the serial # looks like A 351xx L.
Any ideas?
Thanks...

It's a friends horn that I'll have in my possession to mess around with sometime tomorrow. I don't have a camera, though. Are there certain things I should look for? It's in pristine condition as far as the finish is concerned.

Matt,
Photos would indeed be of help, but based on the serial number (provided it is indeed a 5 digit one), it is a low pitched, alto made in c. 1914. It is likely a WONDER model, and not worth a great deal monetarily. This incorporates a quite old keywork design. If it lacks mother of pearl key touches, it is indeed a Wonder model.
Post some photos and we can help further.
By the way Carbs, if the serial number is indeed a 5 digit one, it won't be a later New Wonder Series I or II, as referenced in the provided link.
We are likely looking at this model:

Or MAYBE this one, although these are much rarer:

You're correct, it does lack the mother of pearl keys. Thanks for the input, I'll keep reading and figure out a way to post some pics when I get it.

Hi Matt,
No photos needed then, as that cinches it;
It is the Wonder Improved model in the first of the two Links I provided, and described in my initial response post.
Cheers.
