Facial Injury

I've just been to the doctor with what appears to be either a strained muscle or tendonitous in the area directly behind the point of the chin. This appears to have come about as a result of playing my saxophone. Has anyone else suffered this sort of injury, and what did you do to correct it?

I have had refered pain that originates in the jaw joints surrounding area because my teeth were in the wrong position and the bite was off. My family doctor missed it, I eventually found a dentist that was also a pro trumpet player. He took 15 minutes to tell me what the problem was.


I also recomend seeing an osteopath, they can spot bad muscle habits and help eliminate them.
