I believe you're talking about the DJH Modified Conns. These should be great horns as they are Keilwerth stencils. Check this link out from Saxpics.

These are amazing little horns, I played a borrowed alto a couple of years back, which was in the hands of a school band teacher, and I thought it would be the usual lousy school horn. What a big surprise when I started to really blow on it, it knocked my socks off. I'm a 100% dyed-in-the-wool Super 20 player with over 35 years in, and it compared very favorably with my '20s. I have been quietly keeping my eyes open for one of these ever since. Not that I really need it of course (already have 2 20's and a Marigaux), but it is a very nice horn.

I had one of these babies pass through my hands back in 1985 when I was running the sheet music department of a music store in Nashua, NH. I had a 26M (which I still have) then and wasn't looking for a new alto, but I wish now that I'd bought it with my employee discount! It was a great instrument with a lovely tone.

I have a 110M Tenor. The great thing about it for me has been that people generally don't realize what a great instrument it is. Therefore, when I play it, people think I am such a genius for getting that kind of sound out of a Conn. hee hee hee!
I've got a 108M (DJH Modified) alto that will be going up on ebay this week. The starting price will be pretty low with no reserve, so keep your eyes peeled....
It's finally up....

KJ:
I see that your 108M is up for sale again by the person who bought it from you. I'd like to get the lowdown on this alto before getting into any bidding contest. Can we talk? Email: sax-balladeer@att.net

I ended up buying this horn...the guy was local and I have been curious about stencils. It wasn't as ugly as the guy says, although I haven't cleaned it up yet. It needed a bit of regulation work to play decently (about 2-3 hours of my bench time) and really needs a pad job, which I will schedule into my bench this fall, but it is really fun to play...truly has a vintage sound with extremely nice keywork that copies the early 80's Selmer keywork almost exactly (I have a very early SA80 to compare to). The body appears to be exactly a Couf Superba I, but the keywork is mostly different. It is VERY HEAVY, nearly twice the weight and actually a bit bigger than the normal alto (bell size, bore and even body length!). These are nice horns to watch out for...might become my main alto axe after it is brought 'up to snuff'

I ended up corresponding with Keilwerth, and this horn is actually an early SX-90R stencil...Conn only provided the engraving. It is a monster player, even with the crappy pads and old corks it is a gas to play.
