I am wondering if anyone could identify this sax. It was bought at a garage sale. The former owner claimed that it's a hundred years old and came from Ireland. These are all the identifications stamped on the instrument:

Looks to be from the 30s and the case, if original, also appears to be that. Did you search www.saxpics.com?

Or even earlier judging by the cork rolls on the bell keys - but then again they're on the same side, so perhaps the rolls are later additions. I've seen a Chas Foote (a dealer, not a maker, so it's a stencil) bari marked 'Made in France' which could have been a Pierret.

Chas E Footes still exists - it's a shop in Piccadilly. Get in touch with them.

I recently bought an old sax with Chase E Foote Limited, 232 Hornsey, London engraved on the bell (together with some sort of leaf decoration). It came in an old case that says "Curbin - Made in USA". I don't know whether that means that the sax was also made in the USA? Does anyone know the maker of this sax?
Cheers, Mark
