Since all of the new models are coming out, I've yet to hear on any new bari sax models coming out. Are any even planned to come out? I'd like to snag an older yamaha bari for cheap  So, I'm kind of hoping they come out with some new and "improved" model yamaha bari so I can maybe get a new old stock bari for less than $2k :D

Rots of Ruck! You'd be lucky to snag one for less than $4,000.

I haven't heard of any expected changes to the bari line, even though it has remained unchanged now for years and years.

I think the Soprano is next and has kind of been Yamaha's M.O. for new lines thru the years. Alto -Tenor -Soprano - and maybe Bari
I would not be surprised if it does not happen at all.

There just isn't the demand on bari that there is on soprano (and of course alto and tenor) for saxophone manufacturers to keep hitting the drawing board over and over again for that product. Look how long it's taken for Selmer to come out with a Serie III bari - it's been almost 8 years since Selmer introduced their first Serie III product in the soprano and their bari hasn't come out yet. Is it even slated to come out?

Anyway, I got my silverplated Yamaha YBS-62 a year ago for $4500 new. It took 6 months to get. I don't think I'll ever regret that purchase (hope not). It's a tried and true horn - a real workhorse - that requires no modifications.
