Has anyone used www.escrow.com? It sounds like a good idea. Especially for selling horns and other big ticket items.

I used an escrow service that once was advertised by eBay (it may be the same one). It was fairly restrictive in the amount of time it allowed for shipment (this may have changed after 9/11). Everything worked out fine.
More recently, I have attempted using this service a few times on eBay auctions. I suggest it to the seller during the auction, and they seem to get back to me after the auction is over or gloss over my suggestion when they respond. It is likely an education thing, since more serious bidding would be possible if the "fear" factor was taken out of the equation.
I use this same service on a regular basis, as both buyer and seller.
I think most folks would accept this on a 'first date' if you spell out who pays the fees (I think the buyer should pay).
I use the service only to guarantee delivery, not to validate condition.
If the horn shows up and doesn't meet expectations, I generally send it back... too many projects already await my attention!
The folks at Escrow.com overstate their time frames, to deliver MORE than they promise. Twelve transactions and counting - no hiccups.
I had one auction item that was mangled (hidden by careful camera work) and Escrow saved me $850 in potential repairs.

Are people using escrow services anymore with buying?
Suggestions?

with all the stories I read about escrow-related fraudulent deals, as a buyer I would never accept it.
