I saw this from saxforte, look nice.
Does anybody test this before? What comment? Is it made in Tawian ?

They are handmade in Italy. I have heard very good things about them, but also some guys here brought up issues of consistency, so I don't know what to think.

Morry,I did make a comment on R&C quality but that was based on my experience only (and a repairtech I know). There was some problems with the toneholes on couple of R&C Saxellos (toneholes were not even on couple of places) and the horn had to be almost completely adjusted before it played. The basic sound is good though;it is just a good idea to have a repairman check these horns to be sure everything is OK.

If toneholes has problem, usually it is the diameter is not precise. The result is to influence the intonation (flat or sharp). I don't think it's easy to adjust if tonehole's diameter has problem. It should be very complicated work.

The size was not the problem (the size was right as far as I know). There was some problems with the edges of the toneholes, they were roughly made in some spots and had to be smoothed out to make the pad sit correctly.

If I do decide on an R1 saxello at some point, I will certainly only purchase it from a place with a decent return policy.
