For alto sax.
Are they equal from the constructive point of view?
What and' more' bright.
Which and' more' suitable for smooth jazz/fusion?
I look for some comments-experiences with these mouthpieces
Thanks
The best regards

the xl is the delrin version of the smoothbore, made to the same specifications on the same machine. the delrin(engineering plastic) versions of the Quantum's tend to be brighter and louder, I would suspect the same is true of the XL/smoothbore, although I have no first hand experience comparing the two. I have tried an XL which was slighlty thinner sounding than my quantum.

The XL is very slightly brighter, but it is hard to tell. More noticable to the player than a listener. The difference in tone from the XL to the Smoothbore is less than between the metal and plastic Quantums.
