Posted this on the cases forum but got no reply. Really need a new case. ANyone got feedback?
Need a new case for my Beuscher/Elkhart stencil bari from the 30s. Anyone know or have recommendations (good, bad, other?) on DEG cases? Saw them on the Brooks Mays web site and WOodwind and Brasswind, too, I think. Look like they're the old heavy wood construction with plush interior just like the old case that came with my horn. I figure if it lasted 70 years or so before falling apart, maybe that's a good design to go with? I hate to get plastic. Just hate plastic. So, anyone know about these?
Thanks.
Jeff L.

Hey, stop that! That's a mean, nasty name and there's never any call to use a name like that. If I've angered you, please tell me how to fix my mistake. And what the mistake was. It's a question about cases and about bari saxes, so I did not see any harm in posting it in two places.
Everyone else, is that a crime?
Phat Pat, calling me a name isn't going to help me learn.
If you have anything else to say, come to me directly. My name is Jeff Lindholm, and I'm at jrl6b@virginia.edu. You got a problem, let's work it out, face to face, as close as we can on the internet, but don't just go slinging hateful words behind namecalling. I used to teach children who have retardation. I don' t want to see it used as a hate word.
Is there a lot of this on this forum? I just want to buy a good case that will fit my very old sax. Sheesh.

I'm not familar with the DEG cases. You might want to try a Pro-tec for fit. I've got a few of their cases that have replaced a variety of worn out cases.

why dont you try posting in the right place once then wait for someone to reply with the information your looking for, not posting 4 times within the same week. Sorry if you were offended by my calling you retarded, maybe impatient was the better word. I dont want to start a flame war, thats just stupid and pointless, but it is well known "netiquite" that posting the same message several times in a short time span is spamming. especially in an unrelated section.
I appologize if you were truely unaware, Im simply used to dealing with people doing this just to raise their post count, after a while you get fed up with it.

Phat Pat,
RELAX.
I wouldn't call his actions spamming. Perhaps ill advised but it appears to be an honest mistake. If you want mature discourse then start with yourself.

I got a DEG case for my 1920's Conn New Wonder not too long ago. They are heavy, regular cases for basic storage. It holds the horn adequately, but I wouldn't let it slide around under a bus while on tour. My horn is only keyed to high Eb, but it fits in alright as the bell just makes it to the bend. It would definately hold a regular low Bb bari and probably a low A one as well. I also have a DEG for my curved soprano (Buescher TT) and I'm very happy with that one as well.
