I've got a Brilhart Ebolin tenor mouthpiece with a *5 facing. Some people say that this facing is too short and is difficult to control. I've only been playing for a few months, but so far I feel kinda comfortable with it. I haven't played any other mouthpieces though, so I really don't know if I'm missing out. Should I go to a straigth 5 facing? I don't have any music stores around me to try used pieces, does anyone know of a good place to buy used pieces on the net?
thanks

You can send it to a refacer such as Mojo or myself, and have the facing lengthened. You will find it really smooths out the low end without really hurting the high end. An easy job. tenorman@teche.net

There are other good mouthpiece mechanics and they are listed in another thread.
