I saw some pictures of the production model Goodson Unison horn. It looks like Unison took Mr. Goodson's name off the bell flare. I am assuming it was Unison's decision as Mr. Goodson insisted he wouldn't remove it in response to criticism. It looks a lot less tacky now.

I wouldn't want someone's name on my horn anyway, so I think it's a good move.

I believe (based on a review of the horn) SG's name is now on the side of the bell, in the usual spot, rather than on the bell flare.

Grumps,

You recall correctly. In the old forum, after the first pics were posted, someone asked if the sax could be purchased without Goodson's name on the flare, and I think SG's response what that it was his horn, and he would not remove it under any circumstances.

I'm glad that more refined tastes prevailed at Unison.

An oldie, but a goodie:

Part of my "deal" with Unison is that my name is on the bell. The name stays. I'm putting my reputation on the line with this horn, and have absolutely no reservations about it appearing in LARGE LETTERS. Altering the way my name appears on the horn is not an option.

.... The placement of our logo was my call, I made it, and our sales so far indicate that it was the right call to make. Yes, I wanted to be sure my name was visible when the horn was being played, no apologies will be forthcoming from me on that. It's called the Steve Goodson Model for a reason.......

I wonder if any are being returned because his name is no longer on the bell flare.....

I have to admit that the name on the bell was a definite turn off for me.
