I really dont get it. I know the Gregorian Modes
I Dorian
II HypoDorian
III Phrygian
IV HypoPhrgian
V Lydian
VI HypoLydian
VII MixoLydian
VIII HypoMixolydian
but what the hell do they mean? lol

Dorian mode is when you play in the scale of C for instance on the piano
one octave from D to D Phrygian would be E to E Lydian F to F Mixolydian
G to G Aolian A to A Locrian B to B and Ionian C to C.
I don't know about Hypo Dorian or any Hypo modes. This must be a similar system in the Gregorian Mode.

I know the sound is slightly different...at least to start with, but there must be a better reason.
