I have a 1970 Superdynaction with the original, dark honey lacquer. All of the keys, rods and keyguards are finished with tiny random lines running in the same direction that look brushed in (but smooth to the touch). The result is a striking sparkle effect when the light strikes it just right. The body, bow and bell have the standard dark honey lacquer. This is different than the usual 'sparkle' finish I've seen on some of the SuperD's. Along with the gold-plated springs it makes for a subtle but nice effect.
Anyone out there with a similarly finished Buffet? Any idea how they did it? I'm trying to get some acceptable digital pics to submit to saxpic's site.
