I just bought an Alto 969 and it plays great.

I've had a chance to play the 800 and 900 series horns, and I was pleasantly surprised with how nicely they played considering the price.

As for the XO, I'll let you know. I work at a band/orch retail chain in the Washington area, and we'll be getting our hands on them around May or June.

Merlin, I am playing a 969 Bari right now for this community band I am in, the music store that sponsors it is lending it to me for the practices and gigs. It's a great horn, but I am wondering as to the double octave pips/vents? I have never seen it on a sax at all, and I was just wondering as to the purpose of this.
